The end of an era…Lets have a re-Branded!
Posted Saturday, June 6th, 2009So, Branded07 has been around since 2007, boy has it only been 2 years?! Since its launch I have experienced an incredible uptake of interest in my site and work (Mainly about the Puffins!). I have really enjoyed reading people’s posted comments about my work, good and bad. It has been an honour being published alongside some fantastic artists in so many design galleries, such as Best Web Gallery, CSS Remix and CSS Beauty to name but a couple. It has been a brilliant experience developing and running this site, and I seem to have gathered some awesome followers along the way!
But all good things must come to an end…
So, in light of the recent times and economic downturn I have decided to say…Sod all that! Lets make things better!
I am writing this post to inform my readers that change is coming for Branded07 and I need your help! Over the coming months I am going to be carrying out a full re-Brand(ed) of Branded07.
So whats in store?
A new name will be born, Branded07 was developed out of nothing really and there is no story behind it, I now have a story! And even though I, Rob Palmer have become known for Branded07 I feel it is reaching its final days. I will be designing a whole new and improved look to the site with a less traditional, more intriguing site layout and OK, I ‘may’ keep the Puffins!
What I would like from you…
I would like to use this post as a tool to collect a group people who would like to be kept ‘in the loop’ and up to date on all the re-design steps. You will get the chance to offer feedback and comments on all the new design elements, and I am also planning on running a couple of questionnaires to gather some insight into my specific quandaries! So if you would like to help a guy out, simply write a comment in the comments section on this blog post with your email address and I will add you all to a mailing list.
It is exciting times and I am really looking forward to starting on this. Branded07 will still be running as functionally as ever up until the date of switch over, so keep your eyes peeled and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Hm… I personally enjoy viewing this layout a lot but I guess changes do need to come. I like to be in the mailing list also – it’s always interesting to see how other web designers manage a complete re-brand. I’m looking forward to it and good luck!

June 10th, 2009 at 7:35 pm
Good luck with the new design! Of course, with Puffins!
June 11th, 2009 at 6:52 am
No man lose the puffins… use the cat in photoshop playground it’ll give you more of a challenge drawing it in different positions.
June 11th, 2009 at 9:07 am
Count me in! You inspired me to continue developing my website with this design and layout but I’m sure I will be more inspired when I see the new one.
Thanks and goodluck man!
June 11th, 2009 at 5:35 pm
Not sure if my feedback would really help but would like to keep in the loop.
June 12th, 2009 at 12:38 pm
Rob, I hope your serious about a redesign, I remember how long it took you to get this site up… how redesigns was it, 6 or 7? I know I’m just as bad.
June 12th, 2009 at 7:27 pm
Can’t wait to see what you come up with Rob
June 14th, 2009 at 9:29 pm
I’d love to be kept in the loop. Sign me up
Congrats on outgrowing your digs here. I’m in a similar situation and wouldn’t mind bouncing ideas and thoughts back and forth if you want to / need to.
June 18th, 2009 at 2:31 pm
I’m sure you’ll have my email address kicking about…
Can’t believe the site’s been up for two years. In the fast-paced world of the Internet, it’s an achievement to still have a site that, after that time, still looks fresh and modern and above all: unique. So congratulations on that front!
June 18th, 2009 at 8:29 pm
@All: Thanks so far for all your comments. Going to be progressing over the next few weeks with preliminary ideas so stay tuned and you guys will be the first to know my plans!
@Martin: Hehe, yeah I will dig it out!
Branded07 has been around for a couple of years but this version of the site has actually been live since Nov 08.
I do love this site, it has been a major part of my life for the past year or so, and I am really chuffed with how it ‘eventually’ turned out. @Paul it was actually 11 re-designs!
June 19th, 2009 at 6:02 pm
Hi Rob!! surprisingly going to redesign the site, I love this style but I am sure that the next design will be even better you are pure inspiration, my English is not very good but I wish if you can still join the group
I will see as this design can be overcome but you don’t remove the Puffins they are unique
Good luck with the new design!

July 1st, 2009 at 3:26 pm
Wow, a redesign? Of this snazzy mofo of a website? I can’t wait to see how you top this one, as I really do think it’s spot on. Will definitely be checking in every once in a while to see how things go. Great idea to ask the creative community for guidance too, that’s the kind of brainstorming / idea-bouncing I like!
July 3rd, 2009 at 7:50 pm
Ya if it’s not too late, I’d love to be ‘in the loop’ on this one – I’m very intrigued
Thanks

From someone also in the midst of a revamp too, the opportunity to hook up and swap thoughts gives food for thought. Onboard Rob, Ta!

Great site. DO keep the puffins, if only to spice up a page now and then. Love your artwork. Your styling posts have been valuable to me also. I have developed a nice system for web site software. I’m looking forward to your new design.

If you’re not going to use your current site design any longer, may I use it?
